Sajjhaa swoops in the Dubai Duty Free
Sajjhaa, a daughter of King's Best, won her second successive top-flight contest when impressively taking the Dubai Duty Free over Meydan's nine furlong turf course, in the process completing her fourth consecutive victory of the season, all at Group level. She was always well placed, and after getting the perfect trip up the rails in the straight, she won easily by one-and-three-quarter lengths.
Bred by Darley, she is out of the winning Darshaan mare Anaamil, a daughter of Oaks mare Noushkey. From the family of Japan Cup winner Alkaased, Anaamil also has a yearling colt by King's Best, is due again the same sire this year and will likely visit New Approach this season.
King’s Best, who is standing at Darley in Japan for the first time this year at a fee of 1.5 million yen, is also sire of seven further G1 winners including outstanding Epsom Derby and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Workforce, and Eishin Flash, winner of the Japan Derby and Tenno Sho.
