First winner for Deep Sky
Earth Wind wins in impressive style at Hakodate
The first runners by Champion and multiple G1 winner Deep Sky are now beginning to appear on the racecourse and on 3 August he recorded his first winner in excellent style when Earth Wind was victorious over 1800m at Hakodate.
Earth Wind, who won by two full lengths, sold at the summer sale for 15 million yen last year – the highest price of the day.
She is out of the multiple winner Best Of Chance (Sakura Laurel), who is a half-sister to Group winner Grand Shingeki. Best Of Chance has now produced three winners from three foals to race.
Deep Sky swept to victory in the Derby at three, before taking the G1 NHK Mile Cup in a brilliant season that saw him crowned Champion three-year-old. He stands at Darley in Japan at a fee of 2.5 million yen.
