Hard Not To Like wins G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes
Hard Spun sired his second G1 winner in a week April 12 as Hard Not To Like took the G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes on the turf at Keeneland. Discreet Cat's Discreet Marq, herself a G1 winner, finished second.
In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile turf race Hard Not To Like was in fifth place before challenging the lead in the stretch. Finding space along the rail, the mare closed late for the score.
Bred by Garland E. Williamson, Hard Not To Like had previously won the G3 Marshua's River Stakes at Gulfstream as a four-year-old. She is the first foal for the multiple Stakes winner Like A Gem, by Tactical Cat. The mare is a half-sister to G3-placed Hard Spun filly Ruby Lips, as well as Stakes winners Win And Reign and Graded-placed Cool Gator.
The sire of four G1 winners, Hard Spun was most recently represented by G1 Wood Memorial Stakes winner Wicked Strong one week ago. His other top runners include Eclipse Champion Questing and G1 Mother Goose Stakes winner Zo Impressive.
