Darley stallion Fantastic Light sired two fresh winners from his first Japanese crop this weekend when Namura Emerald and Tyson Barows both were victorious in dirt Maidens at Tokyo.
First to hit the board on Saturday was Namura Emerald, a filly who swooped late to take a 1400m Maiden by half-a-length. Bred by Kazuaki Ito in Shin Hidaka-cho, she is out of the winning mare Namura Catherine and from the family of Deploy Venture.
A day later, and this time over 2100m, the three-year-old colt Tyson Barows scored for the first time. Always close to the pace, he asserted close home to score narrowly. Bred by Darley and sold for 8,000,000Yen as a yearling, his dam, Life Story, is a daughter of the Champion juvenile in the US, Outstandingly.
Fantastic Light stands at Darley Japan for a fee of 1.5 million yen, and is the sire of 24 Group horses, including G1-winners in New Zealand (Mission Critical) and in Europe, via the top-flight juvenile score Scintillo. His first Japanese-bred crop are now three-year-olds and numbers 25 winners including Taisei Phantom, a recent fourth in the G3 Unicorn Stakes.
