Livandar, a five-year-old son of Fantastic Light, recorded his second Black type victory on 13 February when landing the Listed Grand Prix de la Riviera Cote d'Azur at Cagnes-sur-Mer in France.
Winning the 2000m contest by a length from Cherry Linx, Livandar took his number of career victories to nine. He recorded his first win at this level last December, when landing the Prix Lyphard, run over 1900m at Deauville.
Bred by HH The Aga Khan, Livandar is the third Stakes winner out of the winning Caerleon mare Luna Caerlea – herself a half-sister to G1 winner and leading sire Linamix, plus fellow G1 winner Luna Wells.
Fantastic Light, who sired 12 individual Black type performers last year and enjoyed success with his first crop of Japanese-bred runners, stands at Darley Japan at a fee of 1.5 million yen.
