Lovely Witch and Gempchi Hero brought up a weekend double for their sire Alkaased when winning at Sapporo and Mizusawa respectively.
Lovely Witch, a daughter of the Marvelous Sunday mare Lovely Frigg and bred by Etsuo Kawakami in Niikappu Cho, took the eight-and-a-half furlong maiden for three-year-old fillies in fine style at Sapporo on Saturday.
The following day, Gempachi Hero added to Alkaased’s winners’ tally at Mizusawa Racecourse, beating the five-year-old favourite in recording his first victory.
