A two-year-old colt by Darley stallion Holy Bull achieved the highest price of the OBSC June Sale on June 17, selling for $150,000.
Consigned by Steve Venosa of S G V Thoroughbreds and purchased by trainer Bob Holthus, who was representing Frank Fletcher Racing, the chestnut colt is out of the Stakes-winning Notebook mare Creativity. The mare has produced three winners from three foals to race so far.
Holy Bull, who stands at Darley America in Kentucky, boasts an impressive lifetime average for two-year-olds sold at auction of $111,290 – over ten times his 2009 fee of $10,000.
