Lemon Pop, who won both the Champions Cup and the Nambu Hai in consecutive years, received the JRA award for Best Dirt Horse in 2023, and claimed victory in six straight G1 races in Japan, will start his new career as a stallion next season. His stud fee has been set at 5 million yen.
He will stand alongside proven dirt sire Pyro, who is priced at 4 million yen, together with Palace Malice, who has been immensely popular due to the success of his progeny in Japan including JRA Champion two-year-old Jantar Mantar. Palace Malice attracted the largest book of mares in Japan last year and will stand at an unchanged fee of 3.5 million yen.
Tower Of London has had a very successful year with his first crop, headed by G2 Keio-Hai Stakes winner Panja Tower and record-breaking G3 placegetter Arlington Row. He will stand for 2 million yen.
Two popular European-bred stallions are standing their second season: Frankel’s English Derby winner Adayar (1.8 million yen), and Hukum, the elite middle-distance horse from the family of Deep Impact, who is priced at 1.2 million yen.
Yoshida, whose US-conceived first crop has already yielded Graded winners; Thunder Snow, who is showing new potential with the emergence of outstanding performers on dirt such as Marine Cup winner Tenka Jo; and Fine Needle, who has shown to pass his speed on to his progeny, will each stand for 1.5 million yen.
In addition, the highly rated Will Take Charge who will have his first Japanese foals in 2025, and American Patriot, one of the top-five stallions for 2-year-old winners on dirt this year, are both priced at 1.2 million yen. Talismanic, who boasts a very high percentage of winners to runners with success on turf, dirt - over a range of distances - will stand for 1 million yen.
Shotaro Kajiya, Nominations Manager, said, “In addition to Palace Malice, who had the largest number of coverings this year, and Tower Of London, whose first runners gained so much attention, we now have Lemon Pop, who achieved unparalleled success on dirt tracks joining the stallion roster to make it even stronger than before.
“We will continue to strive to support owners and breeders by standing the best stallions from around the world while offering attractive terms.
“We look forward to your continued generous support.”
