Leo Active, a juvenile son of Admire Moon, notched the biggest win of his fledgling career on Saturday November 12, when landing the G2 Keio Hai Nisai Stakes at Tokyo. Run over it’s 1400m turf course, he came with a devastating late run on the outside to win going away by one-and-a-quarter lengths from the promising Storming Home colt Sudden Storm (Click here to see the triumph).
Bred by Taniguchi Bokujo, Leo Active he is out of the winning Opera House dam, Leo Soeil, herself a half-sister to the multiple Stakes-winner, Breaktime.
Admire Moon, Japan’s horse of the year and triple G1-winner, has sired 12 individual winners, including two at Group level. As well as Leo Active, he also has Fine Choice, the impressive G3 Hakodate Nisai Stakes scorer. With an A.E.I. of 2.71 for his juveniles, Admire Moon beats all other two-year-old sires with five or more runners this season.
